"When We Talked to the Trees"
(POEMS FROM THE WILDERNESS)
2009 by Magnus
Music was Everywhere
I thought of you one afternoon and music could be heard in The Distance
I bit into an apple, the one offered to you and music was coming from inside my mouth
The sweetness on my lips was like a Rhapsody.
I sipped on Nectar from a Fuchia flower Hummingbird must have missed,
I looked up into the sky. By my window on the top branch of the Gum Tree sat an eagle.
I turned on the radio and sure enough, Rhapsody for a Harp was playing.
I turned the radio off yet The Music could still be heard.
Outside eagle was beckoning me. A beautiful white cloud came drifting by
So I jumped up on top of eagle’s back and together
We flew to The Other Sky.
Still I could hear the Rhapsody that was you.
I shall touch infinity one day (if I haven’t already)
And am certain that melody will still be heard there
In spite of the fact the people call me a devil.
(How do you know that Eve was tempted by a devil?
It could have been a little leprechan like me instead...)
Aho!
