FWW, I went to at least chapter one. When I find either a scientist, politician, author, expert on anything that has to do with our economy/price of oil/business practices of giant (or tiny) corporations/politics try to make their statements that much more credible simply BECAUSE HE WAS A GOOD CHRISTIAN, is an outright condecending assault on the reader's intelligence. To me, clearly both monetary and religious right muck! Yuuck!!!! The rest isn't worth reading, in my opinion.

Now about THE DECEPTION: Once I typed in ANSWR on google and got ANSFR. Did it several times. I DIDN'T MAKE THE TYPO DIFFERENCE. BOTH ARE HUGE OIL FIELDS, One in Iraq (ANSFAR, sometimes spelled ANSWR) AND THE OTHER GENUINE ALASKAN WILDLIFE RESERVE). Who is using what statistics which apply to which field? It is so disgusting (no one except those on the inside (whoever they are!) really knows where the real oil is.

Many say there is more in Montana (requires vertical, then horizontal pipeline to reach it (Bitteroot MTNs in the way-very expensive STS) than Iraq/Kuwait/SaudiArabia fields combined. Who is right?

Its not that Williams is a Baptist minister, its that he uses that reference to promote the "integrity/honesty" part of his writings/things he heard. I personally have had two devastating "Baptist" people scan done on me- one who used the fish on his stationary, and the other recommended by my sis, a "good Christian from her church".

Both of us were creamed. The list goes on. Do I have a personal problem with "Good Christian" profiling? You bet I do! (On the other hand I also have many friends who wouldn't touch a single one of 'em....Still, the person who practices his or her Christian faith itself and writes about THAT, is often inspiring and helpful...so there! KEEP FAITH OUT OF WRITING ABOUT CORPORATIONS AND POLITICOS, PLEASE!!!!! WE ALL NOW KNOW ITS ABOUT GREED AND PROFIT>

Just can't go any further........

I have a very dear friend in Saudi Arabia who used to work for ARAMCO, the largest oil producer in the world. He told me about 10 years ago that they only had about 50 years worth of oil left at the THEN current rate of consumption. Even if we DO have large reserves of oil here I am GLAD that we are not tapping it. One it is the earths blood, plus I've also wondered if taking it wouldn't produce giant sinkholes. Two, WE DON"T NEED IT!! There are so many other viable, less costly, less destructive sources of energy that drilling for oil is downright wasteful. Thats my two cents.

DITTO,DITTO,DITTO!!!! I think your two cents (sense) and my two cents (sense) equals four zillions worth of practical sense. We took two of the four areas of earth energy (earth-coal & oil) & (water- hydroelectricity) and ignored wind (windmills) and fire (solar power). Why won't we change? The powers that run things don't want to spend a penny until consumers demand it to the point of no return. It will take more than "pulling back" on consumption. If there was a call for activism, its right here, even paying people NOT to have any more children -for a while, say at least one generation. I know this can work, because the French tried it in the seventies---paying welfare benefits to THOSE WHO DID NOT make babies until they got the playing field balanced. They did! This is public record and can be checked out easily. We aught to do the same (also the arab nations, China and India). Yet, we know cheap labor (the more babies, the more future income) still determines third world countries views on over-population control.....and so we go, on and on, keep on hoping, keep on linking, talking, sharing ideas. It (keeping positive alternative ideas alive) can turn things around. That is my faith (another two zillion sense worth!).
