Tshibinda Volcano, Democratic Republic of Congo
A large earthquake occurred under Tshibinda volcano today[2-3-08] at 9:34 am , local time. The earthquake measured magnitude 6.0, and caused 34 deaths, with 250 injured. Tshibinda is a dormant volcano located in Democratic Republic of Congo, close to the border with Rwanda. A magnitude 5.0 aftershock was registered 3.5 hours later 16 km SE across the border in Rwanda.
