| The Garden of Self-hood by TwoHawk Speaking for White Eagle The Garden of Self-hood What's in that name? The Growth of Brotherhood The Meaning of Fame The Shopping for Benefits The Fund-Raising we Claim Will it fulfill our desires Will they bend the rules Of a different game? Will we play harder Will we take the train Will we take a different turn Will we take aim? Will we show our children What compulsion for gain Really means? Will we show them How to fill the bill What pills to take What lame excuses Put us to shame? What good works will do the trick To turn the tables On the wicked who jerk us around The Bush to fix the tools To bend The Rules For A Garden of Fools To stop the weeds from growing In The Garden of Brotherhood. ______ OR!!! In The Garden of Self-hood of The Highest Good Lies a bed of roses Daisies and sunflowers Good Medicine, Good Food
Spiritual insight into the soil we thrust Seeds of wisdom Ones we can trust.
But where do they come from? Where do they roam Where shall we plant them In some foreign country Or in the loam here at home.
It is a place of richness Neither shallow nor dry Wet with sorrow Yet laughter and rye.
Filled with a mind full of vision A pot of rich brown soil A place to work out our differences A place to toil with gladness As we grow, as we grow.....
In The Moist Air of Beauty In a land of Poetic Justice, perhaps, Yet in a land of plenty No lapse of memory Of the worth inherant In The Self-hood of Soul.
But who is the patriotic son and daughter anyway? Who's Native American? Who did the slaughter? Who comes from this soil? It seems to me that whoever cares for it Are the ones we need to focus on Rather than those who claimhan those who claim Their descendants created it long ago.
Who works it today, instead of Who lets it go dry Or lets it go by While sitting on the wayside. They can't tell you why it is what it has become,
How we could lose those precious seeds If they just lay there among the weeds No one doing the planting.
But by rolling up our sleeve and getting back to work Tending Our Own Garden will Leave their mouths wide open.
Our Garden will Succeed!
Their's may turn to dust Because of Their indifference and greed
Ours can flourish with abundance if we water it well Their watering cans can turn to rust or rot in hell.
The Great Genuine American Gardener Award Goes to us!
(That is, those of us who bust ass to make it grow back The way it was intended to be!)
