On This Day of Your Life

I receive these emails daily from Neale Donald Walsch, author of, "Conversations With God." It's uncanny how relevant they are to my own life each day, so I thought maybe they would be meaningful and helpful to other people as well. So enjoy! Here is today's message:

On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know...



....that money is just as holy as meditation, just as

sacred as prayer. It is a wonderful part of God.



If you hold an idea that money is the root of all evil,

you may unconsciously keep it from you. You are

invited to drop that thought now.



All the money you need is coming to you now. Do

you believe that? You must, you know...



You will not have to think but a second to understand

exactly why you received this message today.

WOW.

For you, WOW.

And then,.....for me, since my husband is losing his job next week, and yes we are excited about having more time but of course, it is a bit nerve wracking due to possibly living with less money....and at a time when prices for everything are skyrocketing.

I am going to stop worrying about everything.

Right now.


I guess it can be true that money is holy...I mean, money is security, and in the right hands, money can help others.

If you look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, you can clearly see that self actualization and the transpersonal pursuits (not listed in the pyramid but it is known that Maslow later added the transpersonal to the very top after self-actualization) are only obtained after basic needs are met....needs that money can provide.

It is not money that is evil, but the greed we have recently seen so hideously displayed that is evil.

BTM a lot of people have the misconception that "money is the root of all evil." Actually the bible states that "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."

We all must work and labor and our reward is monetary in most instances. What we convert that money into is what defines us as a person. Our home, the movies we see, the things we buy, the charities we support, etc...

We can choose to do evil things with our money or choose to use our money wisely for our survival and to help others. It is up to us individually to decide what our money will realize.

It is not evil for a person to be wealthy, but what they do with that wealth is the key to character and how they will be judged. Complete egotistical self Indulgence is not a good quality to have.

well, to day is his first day to actually stay home, and that is because he is going to teach canoe school this weekend. I think I am going to have a hard time with him insisting on still going in to the office every day. It seems to be a bad habit he developed.

I wonder how long it will take him to realize he really is the master of his own destiny?

lol. That office habit can be addicting!

Yes, we all make mistakes, but when everything is said

Today's stars, just for the heck of it:

The month of May concludes on a rather hopeful and triumphant note. The Moon forms a supportive, 60-degree contact with Mercury (12:09AM PDT) and this galvanizes your thought process in the early hours. Write down important dreams and visions this morning while the Moon in Aries makes another 60-degree link to imaginative Neptune (5:55AM PDT). Antique hunters and memorabilia aficionados can be in their glory under these kinds of cosmic conditions. Wow, so I guess I missed this. I'd like to make an argument against this point of view:

Money is a form of wealth created by governments, by human beings (as opposed to natural wealth such as water, food, medicinal herbs, sunlight, clean air). The fact that it is human-created alone does not make it bad, but it makes it incredibly imperfect.

Money is the primary tool of distributing resources/wealth based on that which a society most values. Those who perform those functions society values most receive the most wealth, and therefore have the greatest abundance of resources available to them. Again, this does not make it evil, per se - but when a society places emphasis on entertainment over education, on war over aid, on the luxury of a few as opposed to the comfort of the many - then no, money is not as sacred as meditation. Not by a long shot.

And who controls the money (its printing & circulation, the value of bonds and stocks, etc)? Those who hold power. But their power over other human beings is largely artificial, and is based on the inequity of the distribution of wealth. It's the ultimate pyramid scheme, the leverage by which the few are able to govern the many. The carrot on the end of every citizen's stick.

In contrast, the bounty of the earth is provided freely. If money did not exist and we were talking about grain or fruit, or water or air, we would say that all in need are equally entitled to that which Providence has granted. If one believes in a kind Creator, one would have to argue that resources are meant to address the whole of humankind, possibly even the neediest and weakest before the strong and able.

Money distorts the generosity of resources that the earth offers to us. Money is the means by which the inequitable distribution of these resources is justified. It enslaves human beings to other human beings, and it a tool of power and control. Money is not holy, to argue that it is a wonderful part of God, to me seems a gross distortion of truth.

I agree 'nixfan, particularly with the idea of money as an obstruction to usable growth, creating a very powerful energy OF AND BY ITSELF, a fictional construct a few members of our species chose to use for personal gain. No one is assuming either side of the argument that we speak of money itself, but I believe WE MUST recognize that its "reality" (including its effect upon our lives, our thoughts, our "everything"!!!) IS AN ILLUSION WE CREATED OURSELVES AND IS AN OUTRIGHT OUTRAGE ON THE HUMAN SOUL! If it was merely a matter of putting order to transaction from many cultures, a language for trade, fine. Alas we have allowed money all by itself and its own fabrication eat at us like an aggressive colony of bacteria or virus we thought were on our side! The way we use our invention may have a purpose. Instead we ended up by simply trading numbers ABOUT IT. That IS the way it happened. We fabricated ourselves into this madness, irreletive to any resolution that comes from using rightly what we already have (real commodities we need--food, energy, medicnes(herbs), instead of inventing a totally ficticious commodity that now pervades, literally commands every other human endeavor.

Is this gloomy? You bet it is! It also presents a good case for creating or changing patterns of our behaviors (and our beliefs about them) that are no longer useful to us as a whole, a being "open for suggestion", if you believe you and I are all part of the same godness that loves every part of itself and continually intends on doin' the best it knows how to do for every member of itself...which it has and always will continue to do, whether the conscious thinker species does its job well or not.....

On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know...

...that Life is conspiring in your favor.



It may not always look that way, but it is, I assure you.

Everything that is happening, is happening just the way

it must, in order for you to have the opportunity to

create the experience of your Self for which you yearn.



The idea behind all of this is to give you a chance to

become and to know, at the highest level, Who You

Really Are. This is God Work we are up to, you and I.

So keep on.

So funny, I've always told people that. No matter the crap that I went through, I wouldn't change any of it, because if it wasn't for those experiences, I wouldn't be who I am today.
